Much of backstrip missing. Good. Publisher's blindstamped green cloth; 374, 6 [ads] pages. John Mason Peck was a pioneer Baptist missionary to the western frontier who founded one of the first Protestant churches west of the Mississippi, the first college in Illinois, and ordained the first African-American clergy in St. Louis.
