London:: Hodder and Stoughton,, 1909.. Apparent 1st printing. Hardcover. Very Good. 1274 pages, blue cloth covers with gilt lettering on spine, 32 plates; errata sheet bound in. Covers are a little worn, with fraying at the tips of the extremities on volume 2; small gouge on the spine of volume 1; gilt lettering is slightly worn but clear and legible. Bindings are tight, but both are split after the false title page; very slight insect damage; name on front flyleaf of vol 1; bookplate inside the front cover of vol 2. Foxing on a few pages; pages are otherwise clean and nearly like new. A nice set. Heavy. 6.5x10
