[7], 8-78; [3], 478pp. Contemporary full speckled calf, spine with five raised bands and compartments decorated with floral motifs, marbled endpapers. Amoenitates academicae was printed in 1752 in Amsterdam by J. Wetstenium and includes four engraved foldout plates and one in-text illustration. With the bookplate of noted malacologist Paul Maurice Pallary on the front pastedown endpaper. Later bookplate on the front free endpaper. Posthumously published work consisting of lengthy meditations on The Miracles and essay "An Deus Faciat Semper Id, Quod Melius Est?" Printed on heavy laid paper with engraved vignettes, headpieces, tailpieces and historiated initials. Binding strong and tight, pages clean and bright with light, occasional foxing. A small number of pages show toning, but overall an attractive example that shows well. Very good. . 1st. Hard. Very Good/No Jacket. Folio.
