Black leather spine with ribs and gilt title; thick polished olivewood boards with carved cross, stamped Jerusalem on front and Bethlehem on back. Numerous full-page color illustrations. 3 x 4-1/2, 580 pp. Excellent copy of unusual, scarce edition. No ISBN.

The text is organized in a two-column format, and includes an index of terms on the final page. Binding with light rubbing to the extremities, including along the top and bottom edges and the spine. Light scratches to the covers. Interior front cover and front free endpapers with some damp staining and foxing, as well as an inscription from the previous owner in ink, dated 1829. Sporadic light foxing throughout. Starting at the verso of the title page (pg. 3). Protected by clear plastic wrappers. Binding and interior in very good- condition overall.
