Indianapolis/New York: Bobbs-Merill Company, 1949. First Thus . Hardcover. Fair/No Jacket. Copelman, Evelyn. Orig. published with illustrations by W.W. Denslow in 1899, this "new" edition from 1949 (though last copyright in book is 1944; this is a First, Thus, per Oz Wiki) retains the original story, but with fresh illustrations by Evelyn Copelman, many full page (8 black & white, 8 full-color) throughout the book's 209 pages! She is considered one of the "second-generation" of Oz artists, & this was her first book illustration project. Hardcover book with green cloth-covered boards & design in black/lettering in gilt to front & spine is downgraded to only Fair condition due to former owner having taped the spine with clear tape. Heavily rubbed corners, & somewhat shaken. Inside, it is very clean, pages modestly tanned, heavier around edges, commensurate with age & paper quality, but unmarked.
