With contemporary narratives of the Huguenot settlement in Florida 1562-1565 and the Virginia colony 1585-1590.' A collection of the earliest images of America that were made available to europe. Featuring the original watercolours of John White done in 1585 of the Roanoke island colony plus the engravings of those images by de Bry for his 1590 account of the virginia colony. Also included are de Bry's engravings of LeMoyne's pictures; Thomas Hariot's report of 'The new found land of Virginia; plus a series of eyewitness accounts. With numerous b/w and colour images. With Dust jacket and glassine wrapper. Complete with slipcase. 4to. Slipcase is split along various edges with rubbing and wear. Some mild toning to DJ. Contents are clean and tight.
