Paris: Henri Charpentier, 1864. First edition. Hardcover. Publisher brown leather spine and brown cloth. Aeg. Near fine. 3 vols. 64, 62, 42 pages. 19 x13 inches. 90 color lithographs (with descriptive text) and two tinted color maps: all present per Indices in the rear of each volume. Plates after Felix Benoist and Joseph Dessaix, with text by Xavier Eyma and Joseph Dessaix. Title pages printed in red and black. Second volume with some foxing, offsetting to text, apparently the set scarcely opened with interior contents fresh and clean overall. Front cover decorated in blind and gilt, latter bright and sharp, raised bands, spine richly gilt decorated, panels design in gilt florets, white silk moire endpapers, light wear to spine bottoms.
