Light surface soiling ot outer page edges and jacket. First American edition. Translated by Irene Nicholson. Original Mexican edition published in 1957. The dust jacket has been price clipped, has a couple tears along side edges and wear at spine ends. A haunting and moving novel combining the myth of the nine ancient Mayan villages of Souther Mexico with the reality of a modern Indian uprising during the time of the agrarian reforms instituted by President Cardenas. .
