T. Nelson & Sons, 1111. Hardcover. Acceptable. No Edition Remarks. 468 pages. No dust jacket. Red cloth covered boards. Black and white frontispiece. Pages are heavily tanned and foxed throughout. Binding slightly loose. A previous owner's name to front free endpaper. Boards have heavy shelf wear with bumping and fraying to corners and crushing and fraying to spine ends. All surfaces tanned and sunned, particularly spine. Gilt lettering is dulled. Some additional marks and staining to surfaces.
Synopsis
Ninety-Three (Quatrevingt-treize) is the last novel by the French writer Victor Hugo. Published in 1874, shortly after the bloody upheaval of the Paris Commune, the novel concerns the Revolt in the Vendée and Chouannerie — the counter-revolutionary revolt in 1793 during the French Revolution. It is divided into three parts, but not chronologically; each part tells a different story, offering a different view of historical general events.
