About This Item

Plymouth, MN: Crotalus Publishing, 2004. 1st Edition 1st Printing. Hardcover. Fine/Near Fine. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Pictures by authors. 1st Edition, 1st printing, 2004. Black cloth over boards with gilt print and a gilt leaf. The dust jacket has rubbing with scratching and slight edge wear. Ron Schara is a well-known Minnesota radio and television commentator and a journalist who has been a part of the Midwest outdoor community for years. His own noted television programs are Minnesota Bound, Ron and Raven, and The Outdoor Channel. Many writers and photographers have contributed to this book. Synopsis: The authors through their photographs and text depict North as more than a particular direction or a specific location. It is a snowy winter scene on a lake, a taste of blueberries from a rocky inlet, a picture of an ancient writing on a rock as viewed from a canoe, the sight of muskie fishermen at sunrise or sunset, the silhouette of a hunter with his gun sighted on his prey with a multi-colored sky, a curled rattlesnake, discarded moose racks, group pictures of fishing friends and family, an albino deer looking straight at the camera, and so much more. The place where one can find solitude, beauty, peace, shared joy of hunting or fishing, memories, and the wonder of nature.
