Description:
London: John Long, nd.. 211th thousand. A John Long Four-Square Racing Thriller, originally published in 1917. Pp144, slight toning to pages. Paperback, slightly rubbed with small chip to lower front fore-edge. G+.**Nat Gould (1857-1919) was possibly one of the most prolific of writers on horses and horse racing. Although born in Manchester, he lived and worked in Australia for many years. "Because his books were so widely read, his descriptions of Australian life, based on the eleven years that he spent in Australia, deeply etched themselves in the minds of his readers. Indeed it has been asserted that they were responsible for the impression of Australia held in other countries." (Australia Brought to Book by Kaye Harman).
