[good solid copy with light shelfwear, minor spotting/foxing to top of text block; jacket shows light wear at extremities and some rubbing/scuffing to the front panel, but less of the latter than usually seen on this book]. INSCRIBED and SIGNED on the half-title page: "Dear Mrs. Kellen - It is / a pleasure to meet a lover of / the arts such as yourself / at Junior's house. / Warmest regards / Jean Renoir / January 1967." Novel by the acclaimed film director, "the sensual memoir of a gentleman [and his] passionate love for a country girl," as revealed in his private notebooks. Originally published in French as "Les Cahiers du Capitaine Georges." Signed by Author .
