About This Item
Amsterdam: P. et I. Blaeu, 1690. Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. 24mo - over 5 - 5¾" tall. A late 17th Century New Testament printed in French and published in Amsterdam by P. & I. Bleau. Internally very good, a.e.g. bound with the Psalms of David, set to music and also in French. Bound in what appears to be a contemporary leather binding rebacked with a later gilt title. The binding has been enhanced with ornately decorated white metal cartouches to front and rear together with a heraldic design of three birds (owls?) to central cartouches. Two white metal clasps to binding with "RLM" engraved upon them. Unobtrusive modern library number (0.5cm) adhering to ffep. An attractive little item.
An early decorated binding with white metal cartouches and a heraldic identity.
