Paris: Prault pere et al., 1774. Very Good. Paris: Prault père et al, 1774, 1775. Nouvel Édition. Two volumes; small octavos (16.75cm.); contemporary full double gilt-ruled sheep, tan and olive gilt calf spine labels (misspelling the author's name "Hainault"), all edges stained red, elaborately designed papier-peint endpapers in mauve and green; engravings in text throughout Vol. I, including woodcut endpieces. Leather dried and starting to darken and flake, contents fresh, engraving impressions quite bold. Vol. I (dated 1775): [*]4 A-2A8 2B4; Vol. III (dated 1774): [*]2 2Z-3Z8. Attributed to the French historian Charles-Louis-François Hénault, the Abrégé was first published in two volumes in 1744 and covered the earliest history of France through the death of Louis XIV.
