Didot Freres, 1856. Hardcover. Acceptable. 1856. No edition remarks. 690 pages. No dust jacket. Quarter bound red leather with marbled paper covered boards. Pages are lightly tanned and foxed throughout. Occasional thumb-marking present. Pencil underlining and marginalia to pages throughout. Cracking to hinges with exposed binding. Previous owner's plate to front free endpaper. Some mild water staining to first few pages. Binding remains firm. Boards have moderate edge wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Scuffed loss to paper. Soft crushing to spine ends. Leather peeling to all surfaces, with noticeable scuffing and scratches overall. Mild tanning to spine and edges. Small holes to spine. Book is slightly bowed and forward leaning.
