New York: Doubleday, 1968. First edition. 8vo, 279pp. Signed and inscribed by Delany to the former owner in Seattle, 1981, on the title page. Pink cloth backed black cloth boards in jacket. Some bumping at spine ends, few smudges to boards, page block edge lightly foxed. Jacket with rubbing to edges and along folds, some toning to rear panel. Original price of $4.95 intact. A very good copy.

The work was an important influence on the Cyberpunk genre of the coming decades, and combined themes of race, politics, and culture into a mythological space opera that was well ahead of its time.
