Includes: Twenty-eight novels by Boccaccio; and his description of the plague in Florence in 1348. With an extensive foreword by Anton Federigo Seghezzi. This collection of his lesser known, but significant works is treasured by all collectors of the Renaissance humanist Giovanni Boccaccio (1313-1375). A great Italian author and poet, a friend, student, and correspondent of Petrarch. His works in the Italian vernacular became a model for all who worked in that language for almost a millennium.
