New York: Harper & Brothers, 1876. Hardcover. Very Good. Harper's Library edition. Twelve volume set. Illustrated. Olive green cloth with author's signature stamped in black on front boards, gilt-stamped spine titles. Owner's name neatly penned on blank preliminary page of all volumes, pages are lightly age-toned with modest stains on edges of some, modest edgewear, light white marks on volume four only, very good or better. Vol. I: Adam Bede, Vol. II: The Mill on the Floss, Vol. III: Felix Holt, the Radical, Volume IV: Scenes of Clerical Life and Silas Marner, Vol. V: Romola, Vols. VI and VII: Middlemarch: A Study of Provincial Life (in two volumes), Vols. VIII and IX: Daniel Deronda (in two volumes), [Vol. X] Impressions of Theophrastus Such, [Vol. XI] Essays and Leaves from a Note-Book, and [Vol. XII] Poems together with Brother Jacob and The Lifted Veil. The last three volumes do not contain any illustrations, volume indication, or the facsimile title page. Middlemarch and Daniel Deronda contain no illustrations but do contain a facsimile of the original title page in volume one of both two-volume works. In three of the volumes laid in is the original publisher's advertisement slip laid in. A very handsome and complete set.
