London: J.M. Dent and Company, 1895-97. [Classic Literature] COMPLETE SET, later impressions thus. Ten volumes. Octavo (18 x 12 x 20cm). Each volume with an engraved frontispiece portrait, and two or three other illustrations by William Cubit Cooke, and ornaments by F.C. Tilney. Publisher's light green cloth, with gilt titles and decoration to spines and upper boards. Top edges gilt and others untrimmed. Green triangular ex libris stamp of Ben H. Lines to front fly-leaf of each volume, with a hand-written volume number to each stamp. A black ink gift inscription to volume I of Pride and Prejudice, dated December 1895, and a similar inscription to volume II. A bookseller's label to rear pastedown of most volumes. Moderate spotting to edges and endpapers, and occasionally throughout. Light wear and a few minor marks to cloth. Very good. An attractive illustrated complete set of Austen's finished novels, first published in 1892.
