About This Item

London: Oxford University Press, 1855. Two Volumes, one in English, the other in Latin. Kitchin's translation was one of four complete translations done in the 19th century, and is quite SCARCE. Both volumes bound in leather, all edges gilt, gilt decorations front and rear, ribbon markers, 5 raised bands at spine, great period bookplates both volumes at front pastedown. Both volumes Very Good Plus, spine labels worn but titles still legible, moderate foxing endpages but not into interior pages, shadows front endpages from bookplates. Bindings tight and truly a lovely set of this SCARCE translation. . First Edition Thus. Full-Leather. Very Good Plus. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
