Spine title in same; foot slightly shelf worn, some darkening to edges of boards and spine.. Printed dust jacket; browning to spine and panels, small thumb mark to front panel. Signature in ink to front fly. A lovely copy; interior of textblock clean and bright. very good Collection of war poems from Earle Birney. Formerly an Assistant Professor of English at the University of Toronto, Birney left his post to serve as Personnel Officer during World War II. He later went on to establish the first Creative Writing programme in Canada at the University of British Columbia and was awared the Order of Canada in 1970. This copy signed by the author; scarce in signature. 1945
