Oxford University Press, 1980.. FIRST EDITION 1980, 4to, 300 x 220 mm, 12 x 8½ inches, grey cloth lettered red on spine, 128 pages with notes and very interesting introduction. A delightful compendium reproducing 27 little books issued in the first 25 years of the 19th century by John Harris and others for the amusement of children. Coloured illustrations reproduced from the originals. No inscriptions, a very good plus clean crisp copy in VG+ DUSTWRAPPER (dw: not price clipped, 10 mm (½") closed tear at top of spine with minute chip, now repaired on reverse). This copy was a publisher's reject stamped "Damaged" on reverse of title page, the only damage being a few minor dents on lower cover and lower panel of dustwrapper and the tear at the top of the spine of dustwrapper (see images). MORE IMAGES ATTACHED TO THIS LISTING, ALL ZOOMABLE, FURTHER IMAGES ON REQUEST. POSTAGE AT COST. A heavy book which may require extra postage.
