Applied Red and White head and tail bands. Uncut book block. xvi + 292 pp. Engraved Frontis + 2 other plates. Title continues :- Addressed to a Young Sportsman, About to Undertake a Hunting Establishment. Printed for the Author by William Nicol and sold by Rowe and Waller, Booksellers.1826. List of subscribers and Lists of Hounds. Book Plate of William Wheatley with motto Trust in my God to front paste down. (It is not known if this was the celebrated American Actor) VG (Book- restoration work carried out by us. The book was bought in lacking the rear board, front board detached and lacking half title page if any. The Frontis was heavily soiled with loss to margins. Occassional mild foxing / dust soiling to margins. The frontis and one of the other plates which was heavily foxed has been washed and re sized and the margins to the frontis trimmed and mounted on plain paper. The book block has been re sewn on cords with new end papers, new fray not mull applied and let into made mill boards, finished with red calf, hand tooled and book plate re applied as above).
