Yorke, introduction by authors and list of full-page illustrations. The text is illustrated with over 250 illustrations  many of them coloured. Tan coloured textured boards with black coloured titles to the front panel and backstrip. Illustrated dustwrapper with black and blue coloured titles to the front panel and backstrip. Revised edition of 1958, this small book looks at the development of English architecture from the Saxon period to when the book was written. The Observer's Book  13. Softening and rubbing to the backstrip edges and to the book corners which all show a little bumping. Browning of the textblock edges and of the pages. Chipping to the dustwrapper corners and backstrip edges with quite heavy rubbing of the panels and of the creases of the dustwrapper. Some staining to the top left-hand corner of the front panel with creasing of the dustwrapper edges which also shows small tears. Revised Edition. Size: 16mo - up to 6 ¾" tall - Sextodecimo.
