London: Frederick Warne & co, 1953. First edition (ie first impression), hardback. 16mo (14cm by 9cm), 128pp. 64 plates (including 32 in colour). Original green cloth, dustwrapper. Ownership inscription to the front pastedown, else the book is in very good condition. The dustwrapper is in good to very good condition (lightly rubbed, a couple of light marks to the rear panel some chafing of the edges). The dustwrapper has now been put in a mylar cover to protect it. Observers book 17. With the print code 164.353 at the back of the book.
