Illustrated endpapers, all different, each page showing a different aspect of the horse's physiognomy and various forms of harness used upon a horse/pony. The text is illustrated with 81 black-and-white photographs of various types of horses and ponies. Brown coloured textured boards with black coloured titles to the front panel and backstrip. Colour photographic dustwrapper with green and red coloured titles to the front panel and red coloured titles to the backstrip. A small book on the world's horses and ponies, listed alphabetically, giving a small potted history and used to each breed of horse. The Observer's Book  9. A little rubbing of the book edges and age toning of the text block edges and pages. Creasing of the dustwrapper edges with some small splits to the top corners of the back strip.
