Reference tables and books for further reading. The text is illustrated with occasional black-and-white photograph, lack and white illustrations and star charts. Colour illustrated frontispiece showing an Elizabethan star chart. Blue coloured cloth covered boards with silver coloured titles and illustration to the front panel with silver coloured titles to the black strip. Photographic dustwrapper, showing a photograph of part of the galaxy, with white coloured titles to the front panel and navy blue coloured titles to the back strip. A book aimed at younger reader as a beginner book on the science of astronomy. All softening of the back strip edges and rubbing of the book corners. Fading to the book edges and to the back strip. A few marks to the book panels with light tanning of the text block edges and pages. Offset tanning to the end pages with gift inscription to the top right hand corner of the free front end page. Original bookseller's sticker to the lower right-hand corner of the front paste-down. Chipping, with loss to the dustwrapper corners and to the back strip edges. There are a a few tears to the top edge of the rear panel, measuring half an inch to 2 inches, with associated creasing. Sunning of the back strip and of the rear panel with staining also present.
