This is the story of the Panaca Society established by a group of women in England to cope with the grief of WWI. Mabel Barltrop a vicar's widow was the founder of this group. Better known to her friends as Octavia she believed she was a daughter of God sent to build a New Jerusalem in England. Based on interviews with the last living members of the group, this is the story of her life's work. Program from Shaw lecture on Octavia, notes, bibliography, index,398 pages.
