About This Item
Paris: Mercure de France, 1947. An attractive, half leather bound copy of Laforgue's poetry. This was originally published as two volumes in softback as part of the Oeuvres complètes. Here the two volumes have been bound as one. Red leather spine with gilt raised bands, titles and decorations. The red leather is somewhat faded to the spine (but uniformly). To the front board, the leather has faded a little more to the top than to the rest. Red buckram boards. The whole is a little rubbed, but overall clean and tidy. Half title, and title to volume one, with date and publisher's details. Then follows the the poems themselves, and finally the contents of volume one. This same pattern is repeated for volume 2. Internally clean and tidy, with just a touch of darkening to the page edges. 284, [iv], 254 pages. 20cm x 15cm. . 284, [iv], 254 pages. 20cm x 15cm.
