Octavo, Vol I (2nd ed.), pp.xxvi, 873; Vol II (1st ed.) pp.xvi, 1010, (i, advert), Index to both vols, profusely illus., maps. ex-lib with usual stamps and wear, closed tears at page v, light foxing, sl shaken, orig cloth bds with some staining, edges rubbed, cnrs bumped, good condn. The Australians at Gallipoli and ANZAC during World War I. The first part details plans of the medical arrangements for the landing, the operations following the August fighting and the evacuation. The second part follows the work of the Australian Army Medical Corp with the experiences of the 1st A.I.F. in France at the Battle of Fromelles, The Somme, Bullecourt and Flanders and includes details concerning the medical problems of repatriation, the pension problem, and the care of the maimed.
