Thick 8vo, gray cloth with black label with gold lettering plus black lettering on spine, illustrated with two double-spread B&W maps, pictorial chapter-heads, and a few full-page illustrative drawings, archival mylar-protected pictorial dust jacket (unclipped) depicting an Indian in canoe, frontiersman in his, raftsman, and paddle-wheel steamer on the Ohio, 592 pages. The Rivers of America Series is a landmark series of books on American rivers, for the most part written by literary figures rather than historians. The series spanned three publishers and thirty-seven years. SUPERIOR CONDITION: Tight, bright, clean copy with excellent unfoxed maps, illustrations, and pages. Now Scarce in such a remarkably Fine dust jacket (unclipped). No remainder marks.
