About This Item

Norman: University of Oklahoma Press, 1965. First edition. Hardcover. A fine set in a very good original publishers slipcase with printed label on each side. Signed by the author in Vol 2. Even though Bard missed the California Gold Rush by a decade and a half, arriving towards the end of the Civil War, hard on the heels of the oil boom, he assured his participation in the rise of the California petroleum industry. Nearly 750 pages. Illustrated from photographs, maps, an index and bibliography.
