Completely clean. Text in FRENCH. This monograph was prepared to accompany the exhibition at the Fondation Cartier pour l'art contemporain in Paris from April 5 to May 28, 2000. Stated first edition. Text by Andre Magnin. Illustrated in black & white with J.D.`Okhai Ojeikere's (1930- ) photographs of young Nigerian women with their unique hair styles. In the late 1960's he began the project of documenting these hairstyles for the Ministry of Information in Lagos, Nigeria. Checklist of the photos. 11" high X 10" wide, 158 pages.
