Orinal brown boards, hardback in light tan, some soiling to backround, spine clean and very good, red title to front board and decorated with a group of restraining devices hand cuffs and chains, closed page edges uncut and dusty in appearance. Gilt lettering to spine, front endpaper has an ink signature of a previous owner to the top 'Sydney D Robinson, repeated to the top of the opposite endpaper, most of that endpaper is no longer there, what remains is pasted to the preliminary title page, on the reverse side of this page a clipping has been pasted over the details from the publisher, which is 'A General View of the Town of Sydney as it was in the year 1800.' weak hinge, tape repair to this page and the title page along hinge, Top of title page has been clipped, Two press clippings are pasted to the reverse of the title page - these are about George Harrington. Size 7.75 x 5.25 jnches approax. , Pagination i-xvi covers the Introduction and Contents, 338 pages, some foxing and brown stains but all text is fully readable. Showintg signs of being an extremely well used book, one that is fraile but intact and ready to be studied a great deal more. A Book about convicts exiled from Britain to Australia.
