The very scarce first edition of Thomas Tindall Wildridge's beautifully illustrated historical study of Hull in the nineteenth century. The first edition of this very scarce work.The work of Hull based librarian, antiquarian, artist and author Thomas Tindall Wildridge.Illustrated with a portrait frontispiece and seventy-two plates. Collated, complete.Wildridge's work includes descriptive and historical notices, and provides portraits and biographical notices of local Hull worthies.A second volume of this work was never published, despite Wildridge's desire to publish a second volume. This first volume was reissued in 1889. In a half morocco binding, with cloth covered boards. Light rubbing to back strip head and tail, with back strip lightly age toned. Small hole in cloth to rear board. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright, with instances of spotting throughout. Very Good Indeed
