John D. MacDonald Another well known author, MacDonald created the Travis McGee character, whom he featured in 21 novels, each with a different color in the title. MacDonald authored over 45 other novels and four nonfiction books. Thisis the eighth Travis McGee novel.
E. X. Ferrars: During her career, Ferrars published over 70 novels, mostly as stand-alones. Her longest series were the Virginia Freer and Andrew Basnett series, each with eight volumes.
Janwillem van de Wetering: A Dutch writer who wrote both in Dutch and English, van de Wetering was the author of 16 mysteries, four nonfiction books, three children's books and one collection of shorts. His mysteries were all in the Grijpstra - de Gier series, taking place in or near Amsterdam. Van de Wetering died in 2008. This is the fifth Grijpstra - de Gier novel.
Synopsis
One Fearful Yellow Eye (1966) is the eighth novel in the Travis McGee series by John D. MacDonald. The plot revolves around McGee's attempts to aid his longtime friend Glory Doyle in her quest to uncover the truth about her late husband and the blackmail which made over half a million dollars of his fortune disappear. It is largely set in Chicago, rather than the usual McGee haunt of Florida.
