Stewart Perowne's presentation copy of his work on the history of Jerusalem, the first edition of the work, illustrated throughout. The first edition of this work.The author's presentation copy, with a presentation letter from the author loosely inserted. Perowne presented this book to his friend Raymond. The note reads 'My Dear Raymound, here is my little book. It brings you my true gratitude and affection, and the hope that it may .... to you memoires of happy times ......'. Note is dated 8th April 1954.In the original unclipped dustwrapper.'The One Remains' presents a detailed study into Jerusalem's history and current state as it was in the mid twentieth century.Illustrated with sixteen plates. Collated, complete.Written by Stewart Perowne. In the original publisher's cloth binding, in the original unclipped dustwrapper. Externally, smart. A few minor marks to the boards and spine, with a slightly heavier mark to the rear board. Light bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Dustwrapper with minor edgewear, a little heavier to the spine. Light discolouration and a few minor marks to the dustwrapper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Very Good Indeed
