Book Description:

One Third Century Working with Singers, Musicians and Other Weirdos by Woody Richardson, published by Woodrich Publishing Co, a division of Woodrich Enterprises, Inc. in 1993. This Book is a Softcover measuring 8.5" x 11" with viii+63 pages. One Third Century Working with Singers, Musicians and Other Weirdos is Lexington, Alabama-based musician and recording studio owner Woody Richardson's memoir of his musical career, which at the time it was published spanned from 1936 to 1993. The memoir is predominantly composed of stories from the heyday of Richardson's career from the 1950s to the 1970s, when he owned and operated Woodrich Recording Studio. He largely performed and recorded country music but also gospel and rock and roll. Stories concerning Richardson's dealings with various musicians and personalities involved in the Muscle Shoals and Nashville music scenes are included. Woody Richardson, who was born in Texas in 1919 but moved to Lexington when he was 3, was a member of the Alabama Music Hall of Fame's "Music Achievers" and a member of the Muscle Shoals Music Association, which in 1988 created the Woody Award in his honor, given annually to a songwriter. Richardson passed away in 2014 at the age of 94, with a quotation in his obituary from singer/songwriter Mark Narmore stating, "He was a teacher and provided a training ground for writing, recording. He helped a lot of musicians and writers get their start in the music profession from his studio in Lexington."
