London: Printed for Sir Richard Phillips and Co., 1822. "A new edition corrected and improved, with numerous engravings on wood and copper." 8vo., [6] + 29 + [1] + xxxii + 646 pp. Two engravings, one folding and in two colors, by W. Read [extra, not on plate list], and one facing the title page; plates 2-16 and 18-20 present but lacking plate 17. Wood engravings in the text. Half calf, marbled paper covered boards, gilt red morocco spine label. Ex-library with usual markings. Hinges cracked, leather and boards worn. Front pastedown through folding hand colored plate at title, and pp. 315-rfep stained at bottom, some minimally, some with loss. Possibly chemistry gone awry. The colored plate's image is not affected but there is some damage in the margin. Text somewhat foxed, offset opposite engravings. Ink ownership on title page. As is.
