About This Item
Toronto: The Copp, Clark Company, Limited. Fair. 1884, 1885. Flexible cloth. Two sewn, flexible cloth bound volumes. Part I is dated 1885 and Part II is dated 1884. Part I is fair only, with heavy wear to the edges and soil to the covers. The bottom stitch has broken away from the covers. There is a previous owner's name on the back side of the front cover. The preliminaries and inside pages have soil and staining, but are still perfectly legible. The paper has tanned. Part II is in good condition. It has some edge wear and soil and a crinkle to the cloth across both covers. The preliminaries and inside pages have some soil, stains, and foxing but are still perfectly legible. Two ninteenth century readers authorized for the use in the public schools of Ontario by the Minister of Education. These are some of the earliest published readers used by Ontario children in a classroom. Will sell separately. .
