Pictorial endpapers; b&w illustrations on every page. Light rubbing to spine ends and lower edge, else a clean, bright copy in original color pictorial dust jacket (a bit rubbed at folds and edges, ¾" closed tear at top of front panel, spine lightly sunned; price-clipped).
First edition, having the imprint of Harper & Brothers who changed their name to Harper & Row in 1962. A companion to Krauss & Sendak's first collaboration, A Hole is to Dig, this delightful book of wisdom and aphorisms includes such gems as "A screaming song is good to know in case you need to scream."
