About This Item

Single Sheet. Charles Cain. Charles Cain etching with drypoint, printed on hand made laid paper watermarked ‘Heald’ which has a slight blue tinge. Possibly an etching from Iraq showing a muslim woman with a veil. The etching is signed in the plate with a monograph to the top right corner and is signed in ink. Unsure about the date, possibly circa 1930. The etching still retains strong burr from the drypoint and the sheet is in very good condition but with a very light mount burn/ stain. Plate size 175 x 124mm ((7 x 5 inches) Sheet size 300 x 230mm (11.5 x 9 inches approx)
