London: Collins 1957. First edition, first printing. First edition, first printing. Original red cloth with silver titles to the spine, in dustwrapper. Endpapers with map illustrations. Illustrated throughout with black and white line drawings by Geoffrey Whittam. A very good copy, the binding square and firm with a little rubbing to the extremities. The contents, with some light spotting to the text block edges end prelims and a neat gift inscription on the blank page opposite the half title, are otherwise clean. Complete with the rubbed and creased original illustrated dustwrapper which has a few nicks and short closed tears to the edges, and has been repaired with a few pieces of tape to the inside. Not price clipped (10s. 6d. net to the front flap). The 10th title in the Romney Marsh series. Further details and images for any of the items listed are available on request.
