About This Item

London: Cecil Palmer, 1927.. Hardcover. Good. 295 pages, red cloth, titled in gilt on spine, only slightly rubbed. With the bookseller's label of W. Newman, Calcutta. The Indian provenance has resulted in some slight spotting of the first few and last few pages, as well as the fore-edge. The first of the 2 blank front endpapers has been removed. Overall a good sound copy. A very comprehensive and wide-ranging look at European life in India from the non-official point of view. Includes chapters on Ceylon and Burma.
