Oversized hardcover, with dust jacket, published by ARC Edition, 1991. This is a French language edition. Part of the series of books on the Orientalist movement, this one focusing on the artists from Britain. 43 artists are profiled with examples of each artists work in full color. Some of the artists included are; Willam Allan, George Boyce, Elizabeth Butler, Fredrick Goodall, Harry Johnson, John Lavery, Edward Lear, Arthur Melville, William Mueller, William Prinsep, Henry Salt, James Tissot, and David Wilkie. In addition, 95 further artists are profiled in text only without illustrations. 10" X 11", 335 pages with Index. Includes the original storage box as supplied by the publisher. Sturdy red cloth covered boards, sewn binding with red place holder ribbon bound in. The dust jacket is intact and is not price clipped. There is sun fading on the spine panel of the jacket. Edges of the text block are clean. Binding is tight and square. The first flyleaf page has a small pencil mark on the top right corner, the original price. No former ownership marks, no writing on the text pages. Not a library discard, not a remainder. Attached photos are of the copy we have in our inventory. Please note that this edition is the FRENCH text edition, there is no English text in this copy. As an oversized book, this is a heavy volume and would require considerable additional postage for International Buyers.
