Cheshire, England: Lever Bros. , Ltd. , Port Sunlight. Fine with no dust jacket. (1900/10). Original. Paperback. An ORIGINAL c. 1900 late Victorian/Early Edwardian Full Colour loose leaf Advertisement for LIFEBUOY SOAP - formerly tipped into an old book - measuring 6.5" high x 4" wide. The illustration in Full Vibrant colour is of a fisherman looking out to sea and spotting a Lifebuoy with a large packet of Lifebouy Soap saved by the Lifebuoy! On the Reverse is Text Advertising Lifebuoy Soap = " Rescue Yourself and Others from contagion and Disease by Using LIFEBUOY Royal Disinfectant SOAP. Destroys all Microbes and Diseasr Germs. Cleans, Purifies and Sweetens the House....." . , etc, etc. Lever, and many other firms, commissioned many now important artists to Advertise their wares for them in this way. This particular Advert is Unsigned but smacks of John Hassall or Will Owen who did many of these adverts for Lever in this period - and, as nowadays, these adverts were inserted into reading materials to reach the masses. The few that have survived tend to be in VG condition as they were kept enclosed in the books/magazines. This copy is almost As New. Clean and VERY Bright. An Absolutely Delightful Period piece of its time! . All these ads look great framed. At the time of listing I have many other similar ORIGINAL period adverts available. Images available on Request. ; 16mo 6" - 7" tall .

Orders usually ship within 2 business days. Shipping costs are based on books weighing 2.2 LB, or 1 KG.
