About This Item
Sedona, AZ: Temple Golden Publications, 1988. 1st Edition . Soft cover. New. Signed by Author and Illustrator. Fine, Virtually As New. See scans and description. First Edition. 'Our Cosmic Ancestors' by Maurice Chatelain, illustrated by Thierry Chatelain, both of whom have signed this example, the author on the half-title page (personalized - see scan) and the illustrator on the title page. Sedona: Temple Golden Publications, 1988. Octavo, illustrated prefect-bound wraps, 216 pp. Fine, and virtually As New. Minpr sine color fade over the decades, and - that's it. Our Cosmic Ancestors in Chatelain's rather intriguing theory about early extraterrestrial tweaking of human culture dating back at least 65,000 years - in other words, a very worthy member of the genre inspired by 'Chariots of the Gods'. More to the point Chatelain is a very controversial figure who worked for NASA during the Apollo Program, and claims to have been plugged in to the communications from the Apollo 11 first lunar landing mission - including the extraordinarily contentious Missing Two Minutes, during which Armstrong and Aldrin saw alien craft around the rim of the crater, watching, and allegedly said so, to NASA personnel, during the two minutes communications were switched to a secure channel. There has been much controversy and disagreement about when - not whether - Chatelain worked for NASA (as an engineer and manager) and whether or not he had access to secure channels for Apollo 11. Hence the controversy. I personally have not yet seen a formal statement about Chatelain by NASA. Extremely rare in this form - signed by Chatelain, signed by illustrator Thierry Chatelain as well, as well as its superb condition and first edition status. Truly collectible. Ships in a stout box, of course. L8
