The famous botanist Mordecai Cubitt Cooke (1825-1914) first published this study in 1865; this is a Very Good copy of the First Edition Thus (a "New and Revised Edition"), illustrated with many coloured lithographs and black-and-white drawings throughout. Dark green cloth binding, ruled on the covers, with gilt lettering on the spine. Clean text; 200 pages, indexed, and with a 47-page publisher's catalogue with "Great Reductions" in the back. Bumped and rubbed at the margins. . First Thus. Very Good/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
