FIRST EDITION circa 1905 (British Library accession date), small format 145 x 105 mm, 5¾ x 4¼ inches, colour illustrated pale green card covers, silk cord and tassels binding, 18 bright coloured plates, each facing a continuous story in prose. 3 small children and Baby the toddler making sand castles on the beach are taken on an undersea visit and meet the unfishy King and Queen of that realm. After lunch and undersea shopping they fly up to the sky to meet the Queen's sister who is the Queen of Cloudland and makes the rain fall on earth. A delightful fantasy. Tiny crease to lower corner of upper cover, a few very slight marks to lower cover, neat inscription on inside of upper cover, faint browning to page edges. A very good plus clean copy.
