The grocery order has more at stake than a bet when he learns it was the last thing a woman wrote before she was drowned in her washbasin. Bumped and rubbed with wear at the edges, including a 1/2" tear to the upper rear spine fold. Spine slightly cocked, front end paper removed with residue from a bookplate removal on the front pastedown. Uncommon first edition.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Good/No Jacket.
